Since Hamilton Orthopaedics, Spine and Sports Medicine was founded by Dr. Ivan Gowan in 1984, the practice has grown exponentially to serve the ever growing demand in Central New York. It is not only athletes who benefit from the considerable skill and experience assembled here. Hamilton Orthopaedics, Spine and Sports Medicine provides the most advanced orthopedic care to thousands of people every year, including athletes, children, adults and senior citizens.
Local Sports
The practice is responsible for the Sports Medicine coverage of the athletic programs at Colgate University, Morrisville State College and Utica College. Our doctors also attend games and treat many athletes from high schools in Madison, Oneida, Herkimer and Chenango counties. As an additional service to the sports community, Sports Medicine walk-in clinics are offered on Monday mornings at both our Hamilton and New Hartford office locations. These clinics were designed specifically for treatment of acute injuries that did not require immediate emergency treatment.
